There is a story of one man who jumped off the edge of the Golden Gate Bridge. But before he did, he left a note on his dresser back at his apartment. The note read:
"I’m going to walk to the bridge. If one person smiles at me on the way, I won’t jump.”
You can never know what's going on in the lives and minds of the strangers that you see in a daily basis. There are millions of Americans who are clinically depressed and millions besides who have had serious intentions of suicide.
For the man that wrote the note, one smile is all it would have taken for him to turn around and go back to his apartment and family.
But no one did.
I want to be the one person that smiles.

Well... the guy was an idiot to jump off a bridge, and he did it on his own will. If he wanted to really save himself, he would have turned around, gone home and balanced his check book. He proved his point though.
I smile at literally everyone... which in most cases just makes me look insane. But I like insane, so it's cool.
Well I can't understand what goes through the mind of a suicidal person, because I can't say that I've ever been that desperate before.
But everyone wants to be loved, so I can't say that I blame him for wanting to die because no one was nice to him. I don't think that such drastic measures should be taken, but again- I've never been there mentally. I don't know what it's like.
Reading your blog makes me feel infinitely stupid. And heartless. And all that jazz. You have such heartfelt blogs, blogs w/ a meaning. I'm like, "Here's Barbie kissing Ken". "Here's a couple of rocking chairs".
Yeah.
*smile*
Aww, Sally!
I love your blog! I just write about things that I think about, that's all.
On the way home from school the other day, idk how it came up, but Mark told me that story about that guy and it made me think. So I blogged about it :)
Being heartless is fun, Sally! :D
I have no respect for suicidal people. None. That's how heartless a guy I am. There is no worldly situation that should cause someone to do something as cowardly and selfish as taking their own life.
(Self-Sacrifice falls under a completely different category, of course.)
And as for everyone wanting to be loved...eh... debatable. :P
There's an exception to every rule, but GENERALLY speaking, people want to be loved.
Yes, it's the main problem with humanity. Mortal love will never satisfy... it's just a shadow.
It should be ignored for the post part.
Bwahhahaha...
I completely and whole-heartedly disagree.
(Besides having Jesus,) Love is what makes our mortal life so wonderful/bearable.
Eh, well... I think God is sufficient enough. But of course, both views are supported by the Bible. I Corinthians 7:8-9 is the single-man's creed.
xP
"To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am. But if they cannot exercise self-control,they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion."
Well, hey. If you're content to live like Paul, then more power to you!
He did some amazing things and had awesome adventures. And... spent awesome nights in prison being beaten. But it's all for the Kingdom, right? :)
