After watching this sweet and adorable movie, I was inspired to blog because the movie revolves around two things: Cooking and blogging (In that order) which are two things that I enjoy very much.
Those who watched the movie with me were upset that Julie never got to meet Julia Child in the end (and one friend was upset that they never saw the mom personified - only heard her voice on the phone). But all things considered, it was a touching movie about following your dreams and doing what you love no matter the cost and about never giving up on anything (including your marriages, because both of the women were married to very sweet men even though Julie turned into an emotional wreck near the end). Also, Julia Child married a 5'9" man even though she was over 6 feet tall, so to all you tall female basketball players out there: Don't lose hope. ;)
Also, roughly half of the movie was filmed in FRANCE which I loved, and there was lots of French-speaking going on, so it was definitely my kind of film :)
In other news, my vacation at home (it still seems so weird to me that I have to PACK CLOTHES to stay at my own house) has been absolutely wonderful :)
There has been nearly a complete lack of stress and although it's a bit chilly down here, I know it's still about 30 degrees warmer than Virginia is right now so I am more than happy!
Speaking of the cold, miserable North, I got a new jacket today (pictured below, obviously)!! It's a cross between a trench coat and a pea coat and it will hopefully keep me warm up there.... hopefully. I have my doubts but have decided to give it the BENEFIT of the doubt.

I was excited when I tried it on because it fit nicely and actually looked slimming which is abnormal for coats. I'm pretty sure the whole intent of coat makers is to make people look large. But, the larger the coat, the warmer the person, so maybe my slim coat wasn't such a great idea after all.
If all else fails, at least I got it on sale.
Sincerely,
Amaryllis Foximus
